Senior Associate Finance Officer
”.
The Junior Finance Officer supports the finance department in daily accounting operations, financial record-keeping, and compliance activities.
This role is ideal for entry-level candidates looking to build a career in finance within the UAE market and familiarity with maritime/shipping transactions is a plus but not required.
Roles and Responsibilities (not limited to):
1. **Accounting & Bookkeeping Tasks
2.
Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger entries
3.
Assist Post journal entries and support month-end closing activities
4.
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
5. **Accounts Payable & Receivable
6.
Process supplier invoices and payments
7.
Generate customer invoices and track collections
8.
Follow up on outstanding receivables
9. **Financial Reporting**
10.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and schedules
11.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
12.
Maintain supporting documents for audits
13. **Data Entry & System Management
14.
Update accounting systems and financial databases
15.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
16. **Administrative Support**
17.
Maintain vendor and customer records
18.
Assist with payroll data preparation (if applicable)
19.
Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills
- Team player with a proactive attitude
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA, CPA, CMA)
- 1–2 years of experience (shipping/logistics experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Understanding of UAE VAT laws
- Proficiency in MS Excel
