Responsibilities
- Review all technical project documents upon contract award and identify differences or discrepancies.
- Prepare technical clarifications/qualifications about scope of work, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop a plan and allocate resources for the project to ensure engineering deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Take the lead in creating installation documentation, procurement, and fabrication materials.
- Coordinate with other departments within the project team to ensure smooth operations.
- Determine the sequence of work, equipment, and crew make up required for each phase.
- Prepare bar chart schedule for marine work including vessel modifications.
- Prepare written procedures on safe work methods for inclusion in technical bid submission.
- Review engineering related information to ensure comprehensive data in bidding proposals.
- Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) to finalize installation vessels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 7 9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Major Contractors or consultant
- At least 2 3 years of Operations and field Engineering experience
- Thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheet with Macro commands
- MS Project scheduling software
- Familiar with Subcontract activities
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge in Auto CAD

Job Overview
- Senior Field Engineer applies Engineering practices and knowledge to improve the field engineering discipline within McDermott.
- Acting as a lead engineer offshore, sharing conceptual and practical expertise related to the field engineering discipline.
- Provides solutions and prepares mitigation plans to resolve complex problems.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Review all technical project documents upon contract award and identify differences or discrepancies.
- Attend bid interviews with local Management and participate in global management reviews.
- Ensure all bid inputs have been reviewed and approved by the Division Manager and General Superintendent before submittal.
- Prepare technical clarifications/qualifications about scope of work, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop a plan and allocate resources for the project to ensure engineering deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Monitor the progress of the project section to prevent major issues or delays.
- Take the lead in creating installation documentation, procurement, and fabrication materials.
- Ensure accuracy of procurement, fabrication, and installation documentation complying with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments within the project team to ensure smooth operations.
- Offer support on engineering related matters to the Project/Procurement Subcontracting Department.
- Determine sequence of work, equipment, and crew make up required for each phase.
- Prepare bar chart schedule for marine work including vessel modifications and preparatory work.
Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 7 9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Major Contractors or consultant.
- At least 2 3 years of Operations and field Engineering experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Excel spreadsheet with Macro commands.
- MS Project scheduling software.
- Familiar with Subcontract activities.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
