Responsibilities
- Analyze technical specifications and drawings provided by clients or architects to determine the scope of work
- Calculate quantities of glass and other required materials, considering waste and overage
- Develop accurate cost estimates by factoring in labor, equipment, materials, and other associated costs
- Coordinate with suppliers to get quotes for materials and equipment, ensuring the best price and quality
- Prepare and submit detailed proposals that include scope, costs, schedules, and terms and conditions
- Provide technical insights during client meetings, addressing any concerns or queries about the proposed solution
- Collaborate with project managers to hand off the approved estimate details and ensure the project adheres to the proposed costs
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, pricing, and materials to ensure estimates remain accurate and competitive
- Utilize industry specific software to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process
- Maintain accurate records of all estimation documentation for future reference or audit
- After project completion, review the actual costs versus estimated to refine future estimation processes
