- Develop detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, accurately forecasting materials, labour, and overhead expenses
- Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and proposals to identify risks and cost saving opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers for precise estimation and data gathering
- Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals to stakeholders
- Utilize specialized cost estimation software for efficiency and accuracy
- Conduct market research to determine current material and labor costs, adjusting estimates as necessary
- Monitor project costs, provide updates to management, and recommend corrective actions
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors
- Participate in project meetings to advise on budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline adjustments
- Maintain detailed records of estimates and revisions for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- MMUP/UPDA certification is mandatory
- Proven experience in civil works estimation
