- Lead and prepare detailed estimates and bills of quantities for Rockwool and PIR sandwich panel systems & standing seam projects
- Carry out accurate quantity take offs from drawings, specifications, Revit models and site information
- Develop and maintain estimating templates, cost databases and standard assemblies for sandwich panel systems
- Produce clear, auditable tender submissions and commercial schedules including material take offs, labor estimates, plant requirements and risk allowances
- Assess and source supplier and subcontractor quotations; evaluate price breaks, lead times and supply chain risks
- Collaborate with design, project engineering and site teams to confirm buildability, interfaces and scope
- Provide technical support during bid stages and respond to technical queries from clients and procurement teams
- Prepare cost comparisons, life‑cycle cost inputs and margin analysis to support commercial decision making
- Ensure estimates comply with relevant standards, project specifications, building regulations and client requirements
- Mentor and support junior estimators, review their outputs and contribute to team training
Requirements
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in estimating within building envelope, cladding, roofing or insulation sectors
- Specific experience with Rockwool and PIR sandwich panels
- Strong technical understanding of sandwich panel construction, thermal performance, fire characteristics, vapor control, fixings and detailing
- Competent in performing detailed quantity take offs from drawings, specifications and BIM/Revit models
- Proven track record preparing tender documentation, cost schedules and commercial submissions
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with estimating software, Microsoft Excel (advanced), AutoCAD and common ERP/CRM systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred

Role Overview
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimation Engineer with specialist knowledge of Rockwool and PIR sandwich panel systems, standing seam systems to prepare accurate cost estimates, review tender documents, coordinate with sales and technical teams, and support project bidding.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and prepare detailed estimates and bills of quantities for Rockwool and PIR sandwich panel systems & standing seam projects, including panels, fixings, flashings, insulation interfaces and associated ancillaries.
- Carry out accurate quantity take offs from drawings, specifications, Revit models and site information; verify quantities and reconcile with supplier data.
- Develop and maintain estimating templates, cost databases and standard assemblies for sandwich panel systems and insulation components.
- Produce clear, auditable tender submissions and commercial schedules, including material take offs, labor estimates, plant requirements and risk allowances.
- Assess and source supplier and subcontractor quotations; evaluate price breaks, lead times and supply chain risks.
- Collaborate with design, project engineering and site teams to confirm buildability, interfaces and scope; flag variations and potential value engineering opportunities.
- Provide technical support during bid stages and respond to technical queries from clients and procurement teams.
- Prepare cost comparisons, life‑cycle cost inputs and margin analysis to support commercial decision making and tender strategies.
- Ensure estimates comply with relevant standards, project specifications, building regulations and client requirements.
- Maintain accurate records within the company’s estimating and ERP/CRM systems; support continuous improvement of estimating processes and data quality.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in estimating within building envelope, cladding, roofing or insulation sectors, with specific experience of Rockwool and PIR sandwich panels.
- Strong technical understanding of sandwich panel construction, thermal performance, fire characteristics, vapor control, fixings and detailing.
- Competent in performing detailed quantity take offs from drawings, specifications and BIM/Revit models.
- Proven track record preparing tender documentation, cost schedules and commercial submissions for public and private sector projects.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with estimating software, Microsoft Excel (advanced), AutoCAD and common ERP/CRM systems.
- Strong supplier and subcontractor management skills, including negotiation and evaluation of quotations.
- Effective communicator able to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and to present technical and commercial information clearly.
- Able to manage multiple bids to tight deadlines, prioritize workload and maintain high quality under pressure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
- Professional membership or relevant trade qualifications desirable but not essential.
Desirable
- Experience in fire rated Rockwool sandwich panels.
- Experience in industrial, warehouse, cold storage, and commercial building projects.
