Role Overview
NIQ is building intelligent applications powered by large language models and GenAI.
The Senior Software Engineer will architect and implement APIs with FastAPI, build Angular frontends, and use MongoDB as a primary data store.
The role is part of an AI product team and directly supports AI experiences for end users.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable, production-grade AI systems involving big data queries.
- Build MCP-based agentic AI chatbots with intent classification and agent state management.
- Build FastAPI REST APIs that integrate with LLM APIs from providers such as OpenAI, Claude, and Azure OpenAI.
- Manage and query structured and unstructured data in MongoDB.
- Productionize GenAI use cases including chatbots, summarization, classification, and embedding search.
- Design token-efficient API interactions and manage LLM provider rate limits.
- Optimize API performance, latency, and reliability.
- Maintain clean, secure, and testable backend and frontend code.
- Own end-to-end features from user experience through backend logic and API integration.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience.
