Role Overview
The position is a 3F Quality Engineer role covering Fit, Feel, and Finish within LG Electronics' Applied Technology Lab.
The HS 3F Technology Team focuses on manufacturing engineering and quality assurance for home appliances.
The team connects design intent with production reality across global manufacturing operations.
Fit: Dimensional Accuracy and Assembly
- Define and manage dimensional tolerances for critical gaps between components and assemblies and implement SPC frameworks.
- Operate and manage CMMs, laser scanners, and optical measurement systems and analyze GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
- Lead tolerance stack-up analysis across the supply chain to identify fit deviations and drive corrective actions.
- Establish Cp/Cpk metrics for critical-fit dimensions and escalate capability concerns through the quality management system.
Feel: Tactile and Operational Quality
- Define surface roughness parameters for touchpoints, control interfaces, handles, and movable components and validate them through profilometry.
- Develop testing protocols for knob torque, button click force, slider resistance, door-opening force, and other tactile interfaces.
