Team and Role Overview
Shure's Cloud Software Engineering team builds software near audio devices, IoT infrastructure, cloud services, and web applications.
The role is a hands-on engineering position for an experienced engineer who works across system boundaries and owns complex problems.
The engineer writes and reviews code, designs systems, debugs difficult problems, mentors engineers, and helps drive technical decisions.
Workplace
- The position is remote and reports to Shure's headquarters office in Niles, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Own complex features and technical problems across cloud services, APIs, event-driven systems, web applications, IoT infrastructure, and the device edge.
- Turn loosely defined product or customer needs into detailed technical solutions and drive designs through implementation and production.
- Evaluate alternatives, challenge assumptions, make trade-offs, and reduce unnecessary complexity.
- Lead technical work through influence by coordinating engineers and teams and driving decisions toward good outcomes.
- Mentor engineers through code and design reviews, pairing, technical discussion, and knowledge sharing.
