Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer – Edge AI & IoT

Strong production software engineering experience with substantial hands-on embedded Linux development.

Advanced capability in C/C++ and Python .

Experience with Yocto or a comparable embedded Linux build system.

Confidence working with device trees, kernels, drivers, system services and hardware-level debugging.

Experience integrating software directly with cameras, modems, sensors or other electronic hardware.

A track record of improving build, deployment, update or operational reliability for connected devices.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues across software and hardware boundaries.

Sound engineering judgement and the ability to make practical technical decisions.

Clear communication skills and the confidence to work independently within a small multidisciplinary team.

You do not need to bring everything on this list, but exposure to any of the following would be highly regarded:

Edge machine-learning runtimes, accelerators or NPUs

Computer vision or embedded inference optimisation

Model quantisation and power-aware runtime integration

Audio DSP, event classification or direction-of-arrival processing

Secure boot, device hardening and embedded cybersecurity

Cellular, wireless or low-power IoT connectivity

Linux networking and connected-device diagnostics

MQTT, streaming data or time-series platforms

Fleet management and observability

Cloud infrastructure, APIs and data pipelines

Internal web tools or modern web development

Products operating in outdoor, industrial or resource-constrained environments

Work on complete, real-world technology

Your work will connect embedded Linux, outdoor electronics, Edge AI, wireless communications, cloud services and manufacturing. You will see the technology move from engineering concept through to devices operating in the field.
