Description & Requirements
- CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
- The Electrical Project Engineer’s responsibility includes planning, organizing, developing, and executing capital engineering projects within constraints of specific project scope and target schedule. The successful candidate will need experience in project management with technical skills to coordinate a variety of disciplines within the Engineering Department, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering Firms, Vendors and Contractors. The position also requires supporting and managing tasks associated with Management of Change projects for maintenance and operations.
- HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SMURFIT WESTROCK:
- Perform and or manage all Front End Planning and Detailed Design engineering for approved capital projects with the objective of meeting technical, cost, schedule, and safety goals
- Execute aspects of project procurement and vendor/contractor management
- Outlines project requirements and provide technical assistance on capital projects from design through completion and commissioning
- Inspect completed installations and ensure that all projects are installed per applicable regulatory codes (OSHA, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc.)
- Comply with corporate project standards and reporting timelines
- Coordinate outside resources to assist with operational improvements
- WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing with Pulp & Paper experience preferred but not required
- Project management experience, PMP Certification a plus but not required
