TITLE: Senior Electrical Engineer – Commercial / MEP Systems
LOCATION: Middleburg Heights, OH (open to candidates within a 2-3 hour radius of Cleveland, OH, including Toledo, Dayton, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas)
TRAVEL: Up to 25% for worksite visits; remote candidates must work on-site at BG Headquarters in Middleburg Heights, OH, at least once per week.

About The Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the electrical design and engineering of complex commercial and institutional building projects.
This position plays a critical role in developing high-quality electrical system designs that support energy efficiency, sustainability, and long-term building performance.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in MEP building systems who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact facility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design, engineering, and specification development for assigned projects.
- Manage the full engineering lifecycle from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project scope and budgets.
- Oversee and mentor engineers and designers assigned to projects; review and approve calculations, drawings, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with project management, mechanical engineering, and construction teams to meet milestones and deliver coordinated designs.
- Conduct site surveys, equipment assessments, and provide field support during construction phases.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to client and code requirements.
- Identify and implement design improvements that enhance efficiency, performance, and constructability.
- Communicate project status, risks, and technical solutions effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical design for commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities.
- Experience in MEP building systems including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit design software required.
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, or similar construction/project management tools preferred.
- PE license preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25%.
