include the creation and revision of schematics, cable harness design, bills of materials, ECO process of documentation, PLC program creation, and specifying components as required.
- Evaluate and optimize cost of controls during development.
- Perform and document Risk Assessments during design of systems.
- Collaborate with Simulation, Design and Project team personnel to complete assignments.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional design reviews.
- Maintain project records in designated folders in a timely manner.
- Complete work activities within project hours allotted and project schedule.
- Lead cost reduction and value improvement initiatives on standard systems.
- Lead continuous improvement activities of the company.
- Review and provide input to development plans when requested.
- Performs other related work and special projects as directed by management.
- Obeys company policies and procedures and observes all safety regulations.
- Ensure design compliance with industry standards and regulatory compliance for US, European, and Asian markets including UL, CE, NFPA, and CSA standards.
- Authority to evaluate safety and functionality/risk/compliance associated with Job. (ISO 10218-2)
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or Automation & Controls Technology or equivalent.
- Six years or more related experience required.
- An equivalent combination of education and industry experience may be considered.
- Expertise with AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan Design software.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Expertise with Functional Safety and Risk Assessment practices.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and automation.
- Working knowledge of laser equipment, processes and applications is a plus but not required.
