Job Duties

  • Electrical Engineering oversight during the construction and commissioning of a new combined cycle facility
  • Monitoring equipment deliveries to ensure they will support the overall project schedule
  • Providing input to the project schedule and attending project-related meetings
  • Provide engineering support to ensure the Corporation's compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. This shall include technical evaluation of work required to comply with the Standards, performance and/or oversight of work required, evidence generation, procedure development, etc.
  • Provide business, administrative, and technical support for plant managers and other personnel as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology (preferably BSEE) - Technical and business knowledge of natural gas-fired combined cycle generating plant operation, performance, and economics.
  • Experience : This position is a Senior Engineer level position. 10+ years minimum engineering and five years minimum in an operating natural gas-fired combined cycle electric power generating plant is required, including planning, budgeting, preventive and predictive maintenance, and maintenance analysis.

  • Ability to work directly with the Plant Manager and senior plant staff
  • Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications : Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred and a valid driver's license that meets the insurance requirements under Oglethorpe Power's Drivers Qualification Program. Level II Thermographer or Level II Vibration Analyst certification desired.
  • Travel : 10%
