Role Overview

Last Energy is developing modular nuclear power plants designed for rapid manufacturing and deployment.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will own major design decisions and help turn the power plant into a scalable, repeatable product.

The role works directly with company leadership on critical design and integration challenges.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead routing, component selection, and integration of modular connectors for high-current, low-voltage distribution systems.
  • Ensure electrical engineering deliverables meet technical, quality, and performance goals during rapid iteration cycles.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and structural engineers across the full power plant architecture.
  • Provide construction and commissioning support, including RFIs, submittal reviews, QA/QC, and field troubleshooting.
  • Oversee and mentor engineers performing load flow, voltage drop, and protective coordination analyses.
  • Lead equipment and materials selection for modular and repeatable plant designs.
  • Interface with utilities, developers, EPCs, and other external partners on engineering execution.
  • Simplify and modularize designs to accelerate manufacturing, testing, and installation.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience in electrical engineering systems design.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Experience in power plants, data centers, or electric vehicle charging infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience selecting equipment and materials and preparing design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for project teams and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to meet project deadlines.
