Full Job Posting

Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers.

Our customers range from AI researchers to enterprises and hyperscalers.

Lambda's mission is to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and give everyone the power of superintelligence.

One person, one GPU.

If you'd like to build the world's best AI cloud, join us.

What You’ll Do

Perform site walkdowns to verify installed electrical systems against approved designs, single-line diagrams, specifications, submittals, and Lambda standards.

Validate equipment ratings, protection settings, phasing, grounding and bonding, terminations, labeling, redundancy, and electrical failure domains.

Identify installation deficiencies, design conflicts, and operational risks; document punch-list items and drive them through closure.

Review construction test results and witness factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, functional testing, and integrated systems testing.

Develop and review energization plans, MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, switching procedures, and electrical safety controls.

Support initial energization and troubleshoot issues involving substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, busway, PDUs, RPPs, and rack-level distribution.

Coordinate with design engineers, engineering partners, utilities, general contractors, electrical trades, equipment manufacturers, commissioning agents, operations, and HPC deployment teams.

Confirm that electrical capacity, voltage, redundancy, monitoring, and protection are ready before IT equipment is energized.

Validate as-built documentation, equipment settings, test reports, commissioning records, and turnover packages before operational handoff.

Capture field lessons and incorporate them into Lambda’s design standards, commissioning requirements, and site-validation playbooks.

Mentor other engineers and provide senior technical leadership during high-risk energization and bring-up activities.

You

Have significant experience delivering, commissioning, or operating electrical systems in data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities, or large industrial environments.

Understand both medium- and low-voltage distribution, including transformers, switchgear, protective relays, generators, UPS systems, busway, grounding, and rack-level power.

Can interpret single-line diagrams, equipment submittals, protection studies, relay settings, test reports, and construction documentation.

Have hands-on experience with site inspections, electrical testing, energization, commissioning, or operational turnover.

Understand electrical safety, lockout/tagout, energized work controls, and applicable NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA requirements.

Can distinguish between cosmetic deficiencies and conditions that create material safety, reliability, or operational risk.

Are comfortable making decisions in the field, escalating critical issues, and coordinating corrective work under schedule pressure.

Communicate clearly with construction teams, engineers, vendors, operators, and senior stakeholders.

Are willing to travel extensively and spend extended periods at active construction and commissioning sites.

Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Experience commissioning hyperscale, colocation, HPC, or AI data centers.

Experience

supporting first energization and initial IT-load or GPU-cluster bring-up.

Familiarity with Level 1–5 commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational-readiness processes.

Experience

with protective-relay testing, breaker testing, insulation-resistance testing, power-quality analysis, or infrared inspections.

Experience

using tools such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Procore, Bluebeam, or commissioning-management platforms.

Experience

investigating electrical failures and leading root-cause analysis.

Professional Engineer licensure, commissioning certification, or NETA-related experience.

Range Information

The annual salary range for this position has been set based on market data and other factors.

However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
