Senior Ecologist

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Undertake and lead biological surveys throughout Western Australia.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation to support referrals and environmental assessments.
• Prepare proposals to support business growth.
• Travel throughout the state to undertake surveys, often in remote locations for extended survey periods.
• Conduct specific biological surveys and assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements for ecology and approvals.
• Make technical decisions and provide solutions based on expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant ecology experience; Western Australia experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current C-class driver’s licence; manual driving is preferred.
• Sound understanding of current environmental issues and legislation.
• Experience in proposal development and project management.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members.
• Ability to deliver critical project outcomes under pressure with enthusiasm and drive.
