Senior Drainage Engineer (Design)​

Role Overview

Design Responsibilities

• Design civil and transport infrastructure drainage systems.
• Analyze and review hydrological and hydraulic models.
• Design stormwater quality systems, piped networks, and major transverse drainage structures.
• Perform hydraulic and system design for site-specific requirements.
• Apply stormwater management processes and develop innovative value-engineering solutions.
• Undertake modeling, calculations, drawings, reports, design reviews, supervision, and design approvals.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and coordinate with CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Hydraulic, and/or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 10 years of water engineering experience, including stormwater drainage design in civil and transport projects.
• At least 6 years of UAE/GCC experience and familiarity with Dubai Municipality design standards.
• Experience with Infoworks ICM 1D/2D is compulsory.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, hydrologic modeling, and hydraulic modeling software.

Technical Skills

• Experience with CAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.
• Excellent command of GIS and CAD tools including ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
• Knowledge of Water Sensitive Design and Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS).
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and prepare calculation sheets.

Professional and Interpersonal Skills

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or progress toward qualification is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within project timelines.
