Senior Distribution Equipment Operator

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, cranes, conveyors, and other material-handling equipment to move steel products.
• Safely load and unload steel materials from trucks, conveyors, and storage areas according to standard procedures.
• Maintain records of material movement, stock levels, and distribution logs.
• Follow safety regulations, including PPE use, load capacity limits, and equipment maintenance checks.
• Inspect materials for damage and report defects or irregularities.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on handling equipment.
• Work with production, warehouse, and shipping teams to maintain smooth material flow.
• Identify ways to improve material movement efficiency and reduce handling time.
• Respond to equipment malfunctions, load spills, and other emergency situations.
• Follow environmental regulations for material handling and waste disposal.

Job Knowledge and Skills

• Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling machinery.
• Understanding of steel product handling, storage, and distribution requirements.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, load balancing, and hazardous material handling.
• Ability to track material movement and assist with inventory control procedures.
• SAP functional knowledge is required for success in the role.

Job Experience

• At least 3 years of working experience, including at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• GCC experience is a plus.

Education and Certifications

• High School Diploma in a related field.
• A related technical certificate or heavy equipment license.
