About the Role
Cogeco is looking for a Senior Director, Data & Analytics (Crew Lead) to bridge technical capability and business delivery.

Responsibilities
- Define the long term technical and architectural vision for Cogeco's data ecosystem
- Establish and enforce enterprise wide data governance, privacy standards, and data quality frameworks
- Standardize fundamental 'factory' logic such as master data management, CI/CD processing pipelines, and BI semantic layers
- Chair the cross functional Data & AI Governance Committee
- Identify and dismantle systemic bottlenecks, computing constraints, and data silos
- Manage and coach Chapter Area Leads and Team Leads for Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and Data Analytics
- Design the long term hiring strategy for the data organization
- Drive commercial value by partnering with business unit executives to translate goals into a prioritized data roadmap
- Dynamically deploy data scientists, engineers, and analysts into cross functional business squads
- Serve as escalation point and strategic director for enterprise level data initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or Engineering); Master’s degree or MBA is a strong asset
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience in the data space across Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Architecture, and Data Analytics
- Minimum of 10 years in a people management role, with proven experience navigating matrixed organizations
- Excellent ability to communicate complex data architectures and AI concepts into clear business cases for non technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large scale data transformation projects on time

Overview of the Role
- The Data & Analytics Crew Lead (Senior Director) bridges long term technical capability and immediate business delivery.
- Responsible for both future proofing data infrastructure and ensuring data products drive commercial success.
- Oversees Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and Data Analytics.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Pioneer the 24 Month Data Vision: Define long term technical and architectural vision for Cogeco's data ecosystem.
- Architect Unified Governance: Establish enterprise wide data governance, privacy standards, and data quality frameworks.
- Design Repeatable Methodologies: Standardize master data management, CI/CD processing pipelines, and BI semantic layers.
- Chair the Data & AI Governance Committee: Steer enterprise wide alignment on data policies and evaluate AI use cases.
- Remove Infrastructure Barriers: Identify and dismantle systemic bottlenecks and data silos.
- Lead Functional Leaders: Manage and coach Chapter Area Leads and Team Leads for the four data domains.
- Workforce Blueprinting & Hiring: Design long term hiring strategy and make final decisions on talent acquisition.
- Safeguard Technical Benchmarks: Enforce rigorous technical benchmarks across all business units.
- Continuous Upskilling: Anticipate emerging technology trends and build continuous learning paths.
- Drive Commercial Value: Partner with business unit executives to translate commercial goals into a prioritized data roadmap.

Skills & Experience
