Senior DevOps Engineer

Role overview

Duties and responsibilities

• Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines using reusable templates and standardized YAML practices.
• Support Octopus Deploy projects, deployment channels, variables, package promotion patterns, release integrations, and deployment automation reliability.
• Support legacy TFS workflows, including build and release definitions, source control integration, artifact feeds, work item linkage, and migration readiness.
• Prepare for GitHub adoption through repository modernization, branching strategy alignment, pull request workflows, and GitHub Actions evaluation.
• Create reusable pipeline, build, release, and deployment automation patterns across Azure DevOps, Octopus, TFS, and future GitHub workflows.
• Support Azure services, resource management, identity and access concepts, cloud delivery patterns, and Azure-native automation.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, package, source control, pipeline agent, artifact, and environment-related issues.
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams on permissions, secret management, service connections, agent pools, variables, resource access, and environment configuration.
• Integrate security scanning, dependency review, vulnerability follow-up, and compliance checks into CI/CD workflows where appropriate.
• Automate repetitive pipeline, deployment support, build validation, and operational engineering tasks.
• Maintain technical documentation for platform standards, source control, DevSecOps integration, and troubleshooting procedures.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Technical Operations, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience creating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps Pipelines, Repositories, YAML automation, build and release automation, and deployment workflows.
• Experience with Octopus Deploy or a comparable enterprise deployment automation platform.
• Experience with TFS or legacy Microsoft ALM workflows and migration support.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based application delivery.
• Strong Git source control, branching, pull request, scripting, and automation skills.
• Experience troubleshooting build, deployment, pipeline agent, artifact, source control, and environment issues.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, independent work, cross-time-zone coordination, and documentation skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience migrating or modernizing TFS processes to Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, repository governance, or source control migration.
• Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, or Azure Automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
• Exposure to Checkmarx, SonarQube, dependency scanning, vulnerability remediation, certificate monitoring, or security scan integration.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Kustomize, or related technologies.

Working arrangement

• The role is intended for an engineer working independently from the GCC location while collaborating with CST-based stakeholders during available overlap hours.
