The Senior Application Developer will take technical ownership of enterprise web applications within Emerson’s Lifecycle Services IT organization.
The role focuses on full-stack delivery using Node.js, React, Progressive Web Applications, and MongoDB.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex full-stack features from data model and API design through React PWA implementation and production deployment.
- Build scalable Node.js services and REST APIs with Express.js or NestJS.
- Lead PWA architecture for service workers, offline-first caching, push notifications, and installability.
- Design MongoDB data models and aggregation strategies and guide data architecture decisions.
- Deliver responsive, touch-optimized React interfaces across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Set code quality standards, lead reviews, resolve technical debt, and mentor developers.
- Analyze production incidents, optimize performance, contribute to technical roadmaps, and participate in Agile delivery.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of full-stack web development experience with Node.js backend and React frontend depth.
- Expertise in production Node.js services, REST APIs, authentication, performance, and reliability.
- Deep React expertise including component architecture, hooks, state management, code splitting, and optimization.
- Proven PWA delivery experience covering service workers, offline caching, manifests, push notifications, and installability.
- Experience with responsive mobile and tablet applications, performance profiling, Core Web Vitals, and cross-device testing.
- Strong MongoDB experience with data modeling, aggregation, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Expertise governing REST APIs and familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, sprint delivery, and English communication.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced Workbox, Web Push API, GraphQL, WebSockets, microservices, automated testing, Docker, containerized deployment, or Azure experience.
- Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD and cloud application hosting, monitoring, and deployment.
