Job Description
Senior Designer with a strong engineering background responsible for developing design and construction document drawings through project completion.
Designs must conform to applicable codes, project criteria, and engineering standards established by discipline leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design development using engineering principles, technical analysis, and calculations.
- Execute moderately to highly complex design assignments using engineering methodologies and technical problem-solving.
- Apply codes, permits, and industry-standard software to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare designs and drawings using project specifications, engineering standards, and discipline-specific requirements.
- Use vendor documents, technical specifications, and engineering data to support design decisions and constructability.
- Collaborate with discipline leaders and cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions.
- Validate design performance against project criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in design and engineering, including construction documents and technical drawings.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Advanced proficiency with industry-standard design and CAD software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, design standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to execute complex design assignments using engineering principles and technical analysis.
- Strong understanding of vendor documents, technical specifications, and engineering data.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and discipline leaders on complex projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering licensure or equivalent certification.
- Experience mentoring junior design staff and leading design development processes.
- Proficiency with BIM and advanced design software platforms.
- Track record of delivering projects that exceed quality and compliance standards.
