Senior Design Engineer - Control Systems

Location and Travel

• The role supports projects in Kochi, Kerala, and Nagpur, Maharashtra.
• Travel to client sites and project locations across India and the MEA region is required.
• The role includes remote and on-site support during commissioning and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own technical compliance for assigned projects from design through commissioning.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables including drawings, system architecture, control philosophy, logic diagrams, cable schedules, FAT/SAT procedures, and technical reports.
• Validate PLC/RTU logic and SCADA screens against customer requirements.
• Review specifications, P&IDs, tender documents, vendor submittals, datasheets, and equipment drawings.
• Prepare bills of materials and conduct site studies of project requirements and infrastructure.
• Apply ATEX/IECEx, NEMA, and IP protection requirements to equipment and panel design.
• Maintain document revision control and coordinate engineering-to-commissioning handover.
• Work with process, instrumentation, electrical, and civil teams and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, or a relevant discipline.
• At least 4 years of industrial control and automation design engineering experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of PLC, RTU, SCADA, HMI, industrial protocols, and communication networks.
• Experience with electrical panel design, enclosure engineering, and equipment protection standards.
• Hands-on use of AI tools and willingness to adopt evolving industrial automation technologies.
• EPLAN or AutoCAD design-tool experience is required, with EPLAN preferred.
• Experience in oil and gas, utilities, or infrastructure is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel and undertake site mobilisations in India and the MEA region.
