The Senior Data Scientist will lead high-impact AI projects and shape the technical direction of bespoke solutions.
The role combines hands-on technical excellence, team leadership, client relationships, and delivery rigour.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead project teams delivering bespoke algorithms and high-stakes AI solutions to clients across the sector.
- Define data science approaches and design robust software architectures for new engagements.
- Mentor data scientists and support the professional growth of technical team members.
- Partner with commercial teams to build client relationships and shape technically feasible project scopes.
- Contribute to thought leadership through courses, public speaking, or open-source projects.
- Ensure best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle for high-quality, impactful delivery.
Who They're Looking For
- Senior experience in a professional data science position or quantitative academic field.
- Fluent Python programming using NumPy, Pandas, and a deep-learning framework such as PyTorch.
- Deep expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, validation, and the standard data science toolkit.
- Ability to develop innovative algorithms.
- Leadership mindset focused on growing technical capabilities and nurturing a collaborative culture.
- Commercial awareness, client-facing experience, and ability to translate business problems into mathematical frameworks.
- Skills in project planning, technical feasibility assessment, delivery estimation, and team leadership.
