Key responsibilities
- Own and evolve the enterprise data platform and engineering standards.
- Design, build and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Develop analytics datasets, data products and data models for reporting and business intelligence.
- Design and support cloud-native data solutions within Google Cloud Platform.
- Build and maintain ELT and ETL processes using modern tools and frameworks.
- Implement data quality, testing, monitoring and observability frameworks.
- Contribute to CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, governance, lineage and compliance initiatives.
- Optimise platform performance, reliability, security and cost management.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams and mentor team members.
Key criteria
- At least 7 years of commercial experience in senior or lead data engineering or data platform roles.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Enterprise-scale Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery experience.
- Strong SQL, advanced Python, ELT pipeline, analytics dataset and data modelling experience.
- Experience with engineering standards, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, governance and Terraform.
- Highly desirable experience includes relevant industry background, platform modernisation, Looker, other cloud platforms, certifications or Power BI.
Technology stack
- Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataform or dbt, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Run.
- Looker, LookML, Python, SQL, Git, Terraform and CI/CD tooling.
