Senior Data Platform Architect

Role overview

Workplace and schedule

• This is a remote position for residents of the specified eligible states.
• The regular schedule is Monday through Friday during normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arizona time.

Core functions

• Lead complex, multi-domain healthcare solution design using Azure, AWS, and hybrid architectures.
• Architect AI/ML-enabled applications for predictive analytics, clinical decision support, and operational efficiency.
• Define and enforce architecture governance for HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, NIST 800-53, and internal security standards.
• Develop cloud adoption roadmaps, including Azure or AWS Landing Zones and hybrid connectivity.
• Evaluate vendors while balancing innovation, cost, compliance, and operational readiness.
• Create architectural artifacts, reference architectures, archetypes, and capability roadmaps.
• Provide thought leadership in AI ethics, data governance, and healthcare deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, executives, clinicians, IT leaders, stakeholders, and vendors.
• Teach data engineers coding standards, CI/CD practices, and compliant Gold-layer development patterns.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of progressive IT experience in development, infrastructure, or systems analysis.
• At least 4 years of solution or enterprise architecture experience.
• Obtain one or more specified architecture or IT certifications within one year of hire.
• Proven experience in cloud-based healthcare solutions, including AI/ML deployments.
• Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, interoperability, and security.

Preferred qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare or another regulated industry.
• At least 5 years of experience designing solutions that use AI components.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code.
• Proven mentorship of junior architects or engineers.
• Additional cybersecurity, machine learning, or technical architecture certifications.

Compensation

• Estimated pay is $65.70 to $109.50 per hour.
• Actual compensation depends on experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, and internal pay equity review.
