Role Overview
Join Morgan Stanley's Analytics & Reporting Fleet team as a Senior Data Engineering Specialist in the TEDRA group.
Build and evolve large-scale data platforms and analytics solutions processing tens of billions of trade events daily.
The platforms support trade latency monitoring, reporting, trade monitoring, and analytics across Institutional Securities Technology.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable data engineering solutions for mission-critical trade reporting, monitoring, and analytics platforms.
- Build and maintain databases and data pipelines processing terabytes of data and billions of records daily.
- Develop software with Python, Java, C++, Perl, or similar technologies to automate processing and platform operations.
- Build and optimize distributed data platforms using Snowflake, Databricks, SingleStore, Apache Spark, and related technologies.
- Design data models, implement complex SQL, and lead performance tuning initiatives.
- Lead migrations, database upgrades, capacity planning, and infrastructure modernization projects.
- Promote best practices in software development, data engineering, automation, observability, and operational resiliency.
- Influence technical direction across platforms and guide teams through complex technology transformations.
- Support real-time and event-driven architectures using Kafka and related messaging technologies.
