Senior Data Engineer

Position Summary

Location and Work Model

• The role is based in Pune and follows an in-office work model.

What You Will Do

• Lead end-to-end design and delivery of scalable, secure, and intelligent data products.
• Partner across business and engineering teams on automation, integration, and modernization opportunities.
• Drive platform-level architecture and execution using AI and modern tooling.
• Provide technical leadership to internal engineers and external development partners.
• Shape incident and on-call response strategy, playbooks, and processes.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Champion change management so systems are launched, adopted, understood, and evolved.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in data, engineering, science, or a similar role is required.
• Experience leading the design, development, and deployment of AI-first data products is required.
• Extensive hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines is required.
• Strong SQL, programming, algorithms, and data structures knowledge is required.
• Experience with Airflow, Snowflake, Meltano, Fivetran, dbt, Looker, and AWS is required.
• Experience with Terraform or Pulumi is required.
• A record of architectural leadership and substantial company-wide impact is required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present data-driven narratives are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python experience is preferred.
• Experience building and managing a cloud-deployed data lake is preferred.
• Kubernetes experience is preferred.
• Experience with Agile and iterative development processes is preferred.
• Understanding of network architecture is preferred.

Compensation

• The compensation band is INR 36.72–41.31 lakh per annum, with equity stock options.
