Team Overview
The Marketplace Intelligence and Data team builds data and intelligence products that support Shopee’s business development.
The team works across e-commerce data warehouses, merchant and operations data products, traffic data, algorithms, and foundational AI capabilities.
Data Platform Mission
The data team builds high-quality offline and real-time data warehouses for Shopee’s e-commerce business.
The team consolidates raw data, creates common data models, and provides data marts and reliable data services for internal users.
Responsibilities
- Develop Marketplace data warehouse capabilities across offline and real-time data collection, public data layers, application layers, and governance.
- Support data applications for business modules and communicate requirements with different teams.
- Design data architecture and provide data solutions for BI analysis, data products, and algorithm applications.
- Explore key data technologies and improve existing data architecture, data quality, and productivity.
- Work with massive-scale and real-time data processing and apply new technologies.
- Mentor junior data engineers in developing data pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least two years of full-time experience in data engineering or software engineering with data pipelining experience.
- Experience with data warehouse architecture and principles is preferred.
- Experience with one or more big data processing technologies is preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.
- Good logical thinking, communication, project management, and coordination skills.
