Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines
- Own end to end data ingestion, transformation, storage and retrieval processes
- Ensure high availability, scalability and performance of the enterprise data platform
- Monitor and resolve data pipeline failures and production issues
- Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring mechanisms
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across systems
- Contribute to data governance standards, documentation, and lineage
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the data platform
- Optimize data structures and models to support analytics and reporting workloads
- Tune data processing and query performance to meet business and operational SLAs
- Contribute to the design and evolution of the organization’s data architecture
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer sciences / IT / Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building and maintaining enterprise grade data lake platform
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Oracle OCI or equivalent cloud platforms
- Cloud or data engineering certifications are an advantage

Position Summary
- The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, owning, and optimizing the organization’s enterprise data platform. The role ensures that data is reliable, accessible, secure, and fit for use across analytics, reporting and advanced data use cases.
Data Platform & Pipeline Ownership
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Own end to end data ingestion, transformation, storage and retrieval processes.
- Ensure high availability, scalability and performance of the enterprise data platform.
- Monitor and resolve data pipeline failures and production issues.
Data Quality, Governance & Security
- Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of data across systems.
- Contribute to data governance standards, documentation, and lineage.
- Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Automation & Platform Management
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the data platform.
- Ensure platform stability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
Analytics & Query Performance
- Optimize data structures and models to support analytics and reporting workloads.
- Tune data processing and query performance to meet business and operational SLAs.
- Drive continuous improvement and future enhancements to the data platform.
Architecture
- Contribute to the design and evolution of the organization’s data architecture.
- Define and enforce data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
Guiding Junior Team Members
- Provides technical expertise to new and/or junior members in the team to guide them on a day to day basis and help them scale up faster.
Self Development
- Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.
- Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.
- Sets the performance goals in the beginning of the year after discussion with the manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the year.

- Implements procedures and controls covering all areas relevant to the role so that procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service.
- Ensure that the design and the development of the software, is in line with industry’s best security standards, practices, or methodologies.
- Ensure that the information security framework and all relevant procedures, standards and practices are followed by all team members.
- Build appropriate controls into business application software so that the business activity it supports is secure and reliable.
Academic/ Vocational Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer sciences / IT / Engineering
- Cloud or data engineering certifications are an advantage
