Analyze current-state data architecture and develop target-state architecture.
Identify architecture risks, dependencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop transition plans from current-state to future-state data architecture.
Ensure architecture aligns with Government of Alberta Enterprise Architecture (GAEA) and IMT strategies.
Participate in architecture and design reviews.
Provide architecture guidance and recommendations to project teams.
Determine appropriate data mart content and data structures based on business and reporting requirements.
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Apply dimensional modeling and data warehouse best practices.

Promote data reuse, standardization, sharing, and reduction of data redundancy.
Support the integration of multiple existing data marts into the JIMS 3.0 EDW.
Perform detailed data profiling and analysis .
Assess data quality, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
Identify data gaps, anomalies, duplication, and inconsistencies.
Establish practices that improve data quality and governance.
Support testing and validation of data marts and data warehouse structures.
Support the design and development of ETL/ELT processes .
Work with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and related data integration technologies.
Define source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.
Support data staging, extraction, transformation, and loading.
Analyze and troubleshoot integration and data-processing issues.
Work with SQL Server database technologies and data structures.
Support SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) environments where required.
Analyze database structures and reporting requirements.
Support Power BI and other BI/reporting solutions as needed.
Validate reporting data against business requirements.
Analyze JOIN (Justice Online Information Network) data and structures.
Work with JIMS (Justice Information Management System) data and data structures.
Understand business rules associated with judicial processes .
Support the development and modernization of court-data reporting structures.
Update and enhance existing data models where required.
Ensure data architecture complies with Government of Alberta policies and standards.
Apply knowledge of FOIP/privacy legislation and public-sector requirements.
Work within information-management and cybersecurity policies, directives, and guidelines.
Identify and mitigate data architecture and security risks.
Support secure and governed handling of Justice data.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders .
Facilitate architecture discussions and design reviews.
Provide advice and recommendations to business and technical teams.
Influence decision-making through clear technical analysis.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers, data engineers, business analysts, and Justice stakeholders.
Prepare architecture documentation and technical deliverables.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in: Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity Data/Computer Engineering Related discipline

5+ years of experience providing:
Architecture risk assessments
Architecture analysis and assessments
Business rule analysis and implementation
Determining data mart content

Data architecture and solution design
2+ years of experience working in or with public-sector environments , including awareness of:
Public-sector constraints
Privacy legislation such as FOIP
Government information-management requirements
Training in Database Administration
Training in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Training in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Certification or formal training in data warehousing, such as:
TDWI Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP)
CFI Business Intelligence & Data Analyst (BIDA)
Kimball Group Data Warehouse training
Equivalent data warehousing certification/training
Experience with one or more:
