About the Role
Lookout is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead the company's reporting and analytics function.
As the sole Data Analyst, the role serves as an internal analytics consultant for teams across the organization.
The role analyzes business operations, customer behavior, mobile application telemetry and security event data.
The analyst also contributes to financial reporting, including quarter-end close, invoicing and reconciliation.
Business, Product and Security Analytics
- Develop and maintain executive dashboards and operational reports using Tableau.
- Analyze revenue, customer growth, subscriptions, retention, product adoption and operational performance.
- Analyze mobile telemetry, customer behavior, product usage and feature adoption.
- Analyze security event data to monitor threats, trends, anomalies and product effectiveness.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering and Security Intelligence.
- Define and monitor KPIs and translate findings into clear recommendations.
Data and Reporting
- Write SQL queries in AWS Athena to analyze large datasets stored in Amazon S3.
- Integrate data from multiple internal systems to develop reporting and analytical solutions.
- Design, develop, publish and maintain Tableau dashboards.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency and integrity.
- Document data sources, business rules, report definitions and analytical methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of analytics or business intelligence experience in technology, mobile applications, cybersecurity or a related environment.
- Expert SQL skills and experience with complex relational datasets.
- Experience with AWS Athena or a similar cloud-based analytical query engine.
- Advanced Tableau or equivalent BI platform experience.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modeling and large-scale cloud datasets.
- Experience analyzing product telemetry, application usage or operational event data.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Python or R experience for statistical analysis, data exploration and automation is preferred.
- Cybersecurity, mobile application or SaaS experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and workflows for reporting automation is preferred.
