Role overview
Civica Election Services is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work primarily on the Civica Polling Station application.
The role contributes to new public cloud products and maintains established election-related software.
The position includes investigating, fixing, and testing software problems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, provide impact analysis, and identify technical designs and tasks.
- Architect, design, and implement solutions and new functionality.
- Provide third-line application support and implement bug fixes.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code in development and maintenance projects.
- Troubleshoot support issues and conduct peer code reviews.
- Perform unit testing, write documentation, and comment code as required.
- Maintain version control and comply with corporate testing and ISO 9001 quality processes.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and remain accountable for software quality.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Candidates should be proactive, autonomous, collaborative, and able to meet agreed deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication, detailed and abstract thinking, self-learning, and reliable delivery are required.
