Senior Counsel - Litigation Attorney

Goosmann Law is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel – Litigation Attorney to join the Firm and provide strategic, high-quality legal representation.

This senior-level role represents clients in court and in adversarial proceedings, including arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned litigator who can independently manage complex matters, serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and individuals, and confidently advocate before judges and juries.

• Independently manage complex civil and commercial litigation matters.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, arbitrations, and other adversarial proceedings.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with client goals.
• Draft and argue motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Lead discovery, including depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Participate in and lead mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
• Contribute to business development and thought leadership efforts.
• Mentor and supervise attorneys, paralegals, and staff.

• Advanced written and verbal advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.
• Significant deposition and jury trial experience.
• Client-focused with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Bar membership in Nebraska; Iowa licensure strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of litigation experience, including motion practice, complex discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial work.
• Experience in medical malpractice, employment law, commercial litigation, or civil litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and mentor team members.
