Role Overview
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor for a large-scale mission-critical data center construction project.
The role provides client-facing cost management, commercial guidance, and quantity surveying services throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Estimate and negotiate construction change orders and provide cost planning and commercial management services.
- Develop, update, present, and validate cost estimates and cost plans with design teams, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Manage cost checks, valuations, forecasts, contingency, risk tracking, commitment logs, change control, and post-contract cost management.
- Provide commercial input on design decisions, value engineering, procurement, and cost impacts.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, funding presentations, written comments, executive summaries, and client presentations.
- Review contractor and subcontractor pricing, lead commercial negotiations, and ensure final accounts are agreed on time.
- Maintain benchmarking and historical cost records, use company systems for financial reporting, and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction discipline.
