Senior Control & Protection Application Engineer

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for overall requirements, design, implementation and testing of HVDC Control and Protection application software. You will also play a key part in technically developing less experienced members of the team.

Responsibilities:

Work as part of an expert team, giving ample opportunity for learning design and development skills highly relevant for working with any control and protection system; in particular, power electronics systems and grid technology.

Execute the analysis, simulation, test, and integration required to define, and support assigned components, modules or systems that meet business standards.

Apply prior experience and on the job training to solve problems. Propose solutions utilizing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience in solving problems.

Coach and mentor team members with less experience, lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Develop skills within the team and manage performance.

Lead and active participation in continuous improvement activities.

Responsible for operational planning/execution within a technical discipline.

Qualifications / Essential Requirements:

Engineering degree in Computer Science or power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.

Lead design and development of event and rate driven application software for control and protection systems.

Competent on functional characteristics of power systems and interactions between AC and HVDC systems.
