Senior Computer Engineer

Architect, build, and scale custom Python test automation frameworks and internal tooling to execute end-to-end mission-system test cases.

Automate and orchestrate dSPACE simulators and System Benchmark/Test Environment (SBTE) models, drivers, and user interfaces.

Monitor, capture, and validate MIL-STD-1553 data bus traffic, extracting variables and telemetry in real time during automated runs.

Integrate computer vision algorithms (OCR text search, color validation, screenshot analysis) to automate GUI inspection and display verification.

Develop automated test suites for HITL and SITL rigs, identifying anomalies, logging regressions, and delivering data-driven verification metrics.

Candidate needs to be available on-site multiple days per week and as needed to support lab activities.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 8+ years of professional engineering experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.

Python expertise with demonstrated experience building test frameworks, CLI tools, and automation suites from scratch.

Working knowledge of HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and SITL (Software-in-the-Loop) test design and real-time execution.

Direct experience configuring, controlling, and automating dSPACE hardware/software toolchains.

Hands-on proficiency with MIL-STD-1553 bus architecture, message decoding, and real-time telemetry verification.

Practical application of computer vision / image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, PyTesseract) for automated UI validation.

Experience supporting combat vehicle systems (Bradley Fighting Vehicle or comparable tactical platforms).
