About the Role
The role is for an experienced Senior Composite Engineer managing and executing composite manufacturing activities.
The work focuses on carbon fiber and glass fiber components, including fabrication, curing, finishing, repair, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end composite production and manufacturing using carbon fiber and glass fiber.
- Perform wet layup, hand layup, and prepreg layup processes.
- Carry out vacuum bagging, oven curing, and autoclave curing.
- Prepare molds through cleaning, polishing, waxing, and application of mold release agents.
- Mix resin and hardener according to specified ratios, pot life, and curing requirements.
- Follow ply orientation, laminate schedules, fiber direction, and manufacturing instructions.
- Cut, trim, drill, sand, grind, and finish composite parts.
- Identify and repair holes, cracks, delamination, damaged areas, and cosmetic defects.
- Perform surface preparation, filling, fairing, polishing, and finishing.
- Inspect parts for voids, dry spots, wrinkles, bridging, porosity, and resin-rich areas.
- Work with sandwich structures, foam or honeycomb cores, inserts, hard points, and bonded assemblies when required.
- Follow chemical handling, PPE, production quality, workmanship, and workplace safety requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in carbon fiber and glass fiber composite manufacturing is required.
- Strong practical knowledge of composite fabrication and curing processes is required.
- Experience with wet layup, hand layup, prepreg, vacuum bagging, oven, and autoclave processes is required.
- Understanding of resin systems, curing cycles, laminate construction, and material handling is required.
- Ability to interpret drawings, templates, laminate schedules, and manufacturing instructions is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and composite repair skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with production and engineering teams is required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in aerospace is preferred.
- Experience in UAV or drone manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience with high-quality structural composite components or other precision composite environments is preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is ₹20,000 to ₹35,000 per month.
Workplace
- The work location is in person.
