Responsibilities
- Translate commercial crude value expertise into structured workflows and decision frameworks
- Connect crude quality, refinery fit, logistics, pricing, OSP, and trading decisions
- Define commercial decision criteria, trade offs, uncertainty drivers, and explainability requirements
- Identify missing context, weak assumptions, limitations, and human review points
- Validate outputs from crude valuation, refinery fit, sales, and trading perspective
- Support evaluation of alternative commercial strategies and decision options
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to guide development efforts
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Deep expertise in crude valuation, pricing, OSP, sales/trading, marketing, refinery economics, customer/refinery fit analysis, scheduling/logistics, integrated planning, or commercial optimization
- Ability to articulate uncertainty, assumptions, decision criteria, and commercial implications
- Experience translating complex expert reasoning into structured workflows
- Prior involvement in digital, analytics, forecasting, automation, or AI enabled initiatives
- Advanced degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Business, or related discipline

Overview
- We are seeking a remote based Senior Commercial Crude Valuation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support an AI assisted workflow that translates crude quality and upstream signals into downstream valuation, OSP, sales, trading, and refinery fit decision support.
- You will partner closely with client stakeholders, engineers, and data scientists to help translate commercial crude value expertise into structured workflows that support AI enabled decision making.

- Connect crude quality, refinery fit, logistics, pricing, OSP, and trading decisions.

What You'll Bring
- 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Deep expertise in one or more of: crude valuation, crude pricing, OSP processes, crude sales and trading, crude marketing, refinery economics, customer/refinery fit analysis, scheduling and logistics, integrated planning, commercial optimization.
- Strong understanding of value drivers, pricing impacts, trade offs, and commercial decision making.
- Ability to clearly articulate uncertainty, assumptions, decision criteria, and commercial implications.
- Experience translating complex expert reasoning into structured workflows and decision processes.
- Prior involvement in digital, analytics, forecasting, automation, or AI enabled initiatives.
- Advanced degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
Nice to Have
- Experience with crude assay, blending, PVT, or upstream production workflows.
- Exposure to integrated value chain optimization initiatives.

Duration & Compensation
- 12 week engagement beginning in late July 2026, with potential for extension.
