Senior Civil Engineer

The Opportunity Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing Power business.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering civil engineering solutions across major transmission and substation projects.

Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will provide technical leadership throughout the design lifecycle, ensuring high quality, fit for purpose outcomes.

As part of this role, you will:

• Deliver civil designs for major transmission and substation projects
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across project teams
• Prepare design documentation, scopes of work and tender packages
• Support project delivery, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and client requirements

This is a full-time permanent role based in our office in Milton, QLD.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for a collaborative and experienced engineering professional who thrives in a project environment and brings a strong understanding of civil design within the power and utilities sector.

To be successful, you will have:

• Qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Chartered Professional Engineer status, or the ability to obtain it
• Experience delivering civil design for transmission and substation projects within the power industry
• Strong experience across bulk earthworks, drainage, oil containment, access roads/tracks, and site civil infrastructure
• Knowledge of utility and transmission network infrastructure
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• The ability to manage design deliverables, priorities and project deadlines
• A flexible and team focused approach to problem solving
