The Department of Finance and Treasury Board’s Treasury Management and Fiscal Policy Division has a unique and challenging career opportunity for a Senior Capital Markets Analyst to join the Debt and Funds Management branch in the Fredericton office.
The Branch has responsibilities for financing the Government of New Brunswick and Crown corporations, managing the Consolidated Fund and the Service of the Public Debt, investing and administering various trust funds as well as providing financial policy analysis and advice.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Capital Markets Analyst identifies opportunities, performs research and analysis, writes reports, creates data and documentation and advises on strategy related but not limited to the following categories:
- fixed income and currency markets
- negotiating terms and conditions of debenture issues and related derivative instruments
- debenture authorization, settlement management and documentation
- liability and risk management
- trust funds oversight and investment
- oversight of borrowing syndicate members
- stakeholder and regulatory communications
- financial market new products, data, rates and analytics

We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics or other related discipline and a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience
- A recognized professional designation such as a Canadian CPA or CFA
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Positive, can-do attitude with demonstrated persistence and resilience in challenging situations.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course
Knowledge of Canadian debt capital markets.
Familiarity with legal terminology and documentation.
