Responsibilities
- Build and manage commercial real estate development and construction lending relationships
- Originate and structure commercial real estate and syndicated lending opportunities
- Prepare credit recommendations through comprehensive financial, risk, and security analysis
- Manage the full lifecycle of a lending portfolio, including annual reviews, renewals, amendments, and ongoing relationship management
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively address risk issues
- Build relationships with developers, investors, centers of influence, and referral partners
- Collaborate across business lines to deliver integrated member solutions and identify cross selling opportunities
- Support and mentor colleagues through knowledge sharing and best practice development
Requirements
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial lending experience with a focus on real estate development and construction financing
- Strong experience in credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and structuring complex lending transactions
- Deep understanding of commercial real estate development lending, project risk assessment, and security evaluation
- Demonstrated business development experience with ability to build strong relationships with members, referral partners, and centers of influence
- Strong knowledge of integrated financial solutions and ability to identify opportunities across business lines
- Experience with loan syndications and syndicated lending structures
- Experience with CMHC loan origination and loan servicing (considered an asset)
