Senior Business Development Manager

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll manage and grow a dedicated portfolio of Vero brokers. You’ll get to know your brokers and their businesses, understand what matters to them and work with teams across Vero to deliver practical solutions for their customers.

You’ll have ownership of your portfolio and play an important role in strengthening Vero’s presence in the local market, supporting retention, growth and a positive broker experience.

Build strong, trusted relationships with broker partners.

Develop broker business plans focused on retention, profitable growth and satisfaction.

Identify and develop new business opportunities through broker relationships and market activity.

Work closely with underwriting, claims and credit teams to find solutions and resolve issues.

Lead broker meetings and deliver product presentations and training.

Keep across market trends and share insights that help strengthen our broker proposition and portfolio.

Around five years or more experience in insurance distribution, broking, underwriting or a relevant business development role.

Strong relationships within the broker market and a good understanding of general insurance and commercial products.

Experience managing a commercial portfolio and working through changing market conditions.

Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

A collaborative, personable approach, and confidence in building relationships and developing opportunities.

A strong commitment to building a positive team culture, with the ability to collaborate across teams and functions to achieve the best outcomes for our brokers and customers. A strong culture and genuine collaboration are key to being successful in this role.

A current driver licence and the flexibility to meet with brokers locally.
