Job Description
- The Senior Business Development Executive Freight Forwarding is responsible for independently driving business growth through strategic client acquisition, retention, and key account management.
- The role involves mentoring junior team members, supporting the overall sales strategy, and ensuring strong market positioning.
Achievement of Sales Target and Key Account Management
- Take ownership of strategic or high value clients, ensuring long term retention, account growth, and contract renewals.
- Generates, maintains and monitors a robust sales pipeline for generations of new business.
- Achieves sales objectives with respect to value, product and service mix etc.
- Coordinates and sends proposals and tender submissions.
- Identifies key decision makers, leverages opportunities to promote and sell company products and services.
- Works in coordination with the sales manager to devise strategies to generate optimal repeat business from existing clients.
- Works in coordination with the sales manager to devise strategies to cross sell and up selling to existing clients.
- Maintains a keen knowledge of the portfolio of products and services offered by ZAJEL.
Strategic Sales Planning and Forecasting
- Contribute to sales forecasting, target segmentation, and market mapping.
- Share insights on competitor activity and potential business opportunities.
- Provides input for medium term planning to the company's top management.
- Attends forecast meetings and provide inputs and assistance as required.
- Responsible for assisting the sales manager in the development of the sales strategy.
- Interacts with other business units to plan, negotiate and interpret information on ZAJEL's products and services.
Client Management and Customer Relationship Management Support
- Assist the sales team in maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, helping to resolve escalations.
- Build and promote strong, continuing customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
- Manage client relations by soliciting and logging client feedback.
- Support in the process of integrating and on boarding clients/sellers.
Cross functional Collaboration, Performance Analysis, Representation & Networkin
- Liaise with Operations, Finance, IT and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth handover of closed deals.
- Evaluate sales data and pipeline performance; recommend corrective actions.
- Represent ZAJEL at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.
MIS and Reports
- Prepare timely and accurate MIS statements and reports as required.
Policies, Systems, and Procedures
- Provides feedback regularly on the effectiveness and soundness of policies and procedures.
- Ensures that policies and processes fulfil all procedural/legislative requirements.
- Understand and embrace the corporate information security framework.
Quality Management and Continuous Improvement
- Ensures compliance with all relevant quality management procedures and controls.
- Stimulates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement.
Academic / Vocational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
Work Experience
- Candidate with prior logistics experience of at least 5 years will be preferred.
