Role Overview

The Senior Business Development Executive – Freight Forwarding independently drives business growth through client acquisition, retention, key account management, and revenue performance.

The role mentors junior team members, supports sales strategy, and helps maintain ZAJEL’s market position, customer satisfaction, and process excellence.

Sales and Account Management

  • Own strategic or high-value accounts, supporting retention, account growth, and contract renewals.
  • Build and monitor a sales pipeline for new business and achieve objectives across value, products, and services.
  • Prepare proposals and tender submissions, identify decision makers, and promote company products and services.
  • Develop repeat-business, cross-selling, and upselling strategies with the sales manager.

Planning and Forecasting

  • Contribute to sales forecasting, target segmentation, market mapping, competitor analysis, and medium-term planning.
  • Support development of the sales strategy and provide inputs in forecast meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of ZAJEL’s product and service portfolio and execute direct and indirect sales strategies.

Client and Cross-Functional Support

  • Build customer relationships, understand client needs, resolve escalations, and log feedback.
  • Support client and seller integration and onboarding.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Finance, IT, Customer Service, project, development, research, and marketing teams to align delivery expectations.
  • Represent ZAJEL at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.

Reporting and Improvement

  • Evaluate sales data and pipeline performance and recommend corrective actions for monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Prepare timely and accurate MIS statements and reports.
  • Provide feedback on policies and procedures and contribute to continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity initiatives.

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Work Experience

  • At least five years of prior logistics experience is preferred.

Compliance Expectations

  • Follow relevant policies, procedures, legislative requirements, quality controls, and the corporate information security framework.
