Role Overview

The Senior Business Analyst plans, manages, and leads requirements activities to support continuous value and measurable business outcomes.

The role provides expertise in requirements management, OKR alignment, operating models, and quality and traceability standards.

The Senior Business Analyst demonstrates the International Institute of Business Analysts’ Core Competency Model standards.

Job Accountabilities

  • Plans, manages, leads, and oversees the end-to-end requirements process.
  • Analyzes impacts to customers, colleagues, stakeholders, processes, and technology solutions.
  • Drives business benefits and success criteria in conjunction with business segment OKRs.
  • Elicits and documents requirements with supporting documentation and end-to-end traceability.
  • Owns requirements prioritization and manages related risks and key decisions.
  • Supports Product Owners with Program Increment Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, goals, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Connects business, technology, and business-technology teams and collaborates with change and channel partners.
  • Leads requirements quality assessments and provides recommendations for effective delivery.
  • Contributes to Sprint goals, velocity targets, ceremonies, and short-term Pod coverage as needed.
  • Mentors and guides Junior BAs, BSAs, Pod members, and partners.

Additional Information

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst delivering on large programs or projects.
  • CBAP certification is an asset.
  • SAFe certification is an asset.
  • Deep knowledge of Personal Banking Products and Services is helpful.
  • Experience with regulatory projects, including AML/KYC and related bills or regulations, is an asset.
  • Financial institution or banking experience is an asset.
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and SAFe methodologies is required.
  • Strong collaboration, leadership, creative solutioning, critical thinking, and relationship management skills are required.
  • Ability to operate in multiple Pods simultaneously when applicable is required.

Pay Details

  • The stated base pay range is CAD 76,800 to CAD 115,200.
  • Actual base pay may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and organizational needs.
