Responsibilities
- Provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial and ancillary revenue reporting
- Analyze performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and variances to support decision making
- Partner with management to develop budgets, forecasts, performance metrics, and action plans
- Promote financial awareness and accountability across the department
- Conduct financial research, profitability analysis, and business evaluations
- Assist in developing business cases, information system implementations, and cost benefit analyses
- Ensure integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or related discipline
- CPA professional accounting designation
- 4–6 years of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, or related analytical role
- 1–3 years of experience preparing budgets, forecasts, financial models, and variance analysis
- Experience working with large ERP systems and financial/reporting tools
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical/problem solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

The Opportunity
- BC Ferries is looking for a Senior Business Analyst, Food & Retail Programs to drive financial performance, strategic planning, and business insights for one of its most customer facing lines of business.
The Role
- Provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial and ancillary revenue reporting
- Analyze performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and variances
- Partner with management to develop budgets, forecasts, performance metrics, and action plans
- Promote financial awareness and accountability
- Conduct financial research, profitability analysis, and business evaluations

What you bring to the team

Additional Information
- Target salary range: $105,200 $131,500 per annum
- 12 month term certain position
- Location: Swartz Bay
