Role Overview
This position is responsible for auditing customs brokerage files (CAD files) to ensure compliance with Canadian import/export regulations, including CARM, SIMA, and surtax requirements.
The role involves auditing both specific and randomly selected customer accounts, ensuring accuracy of documentation, tariff classification, and regulatory compliance.

- Operational hubs located in:
- Lachine, Quebec
- Mississauga, Ontario
- Key Responsibilities
- Audit daily brokerage files under CBSA D1-4-1 requirements
- Verify permits, licenses, certificates, and import documentation
- Validate tariff classifications using GROI and Explanatory Notes
- Perform country-of-origin verification with suppliers
- Maintain classification databases (Excel, Access)
- Enter classifications into internal systems
- Communicate compliance requirements to customers
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years customs brokerage experience
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) required
- Strong CBSA and U.S. customs knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- French (advanced), English (intermediate)
- Bilingualism required: French and English (written and spoken). Strong verbal and written communication skills in French are essential. The role involves regular interactions with clients outside of Quebec (20%). - Required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Preferred Qualifications
- International trade or logistics experience
- Classification and FTA experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
