Role Overview
WSP's Resources subsector supports mining and heavy industrial clients across Canada through engineering and project execution services.
Based in the Noida office, the Structural BIM Designer supports structural engineering for new construction and brownfield mining, metals, and heavy industrial projects.
The role contributes to projects from concept through completion and works with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Produce structural 3D models and detailed drafting deliverables using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Prepare structural drawings, layouts, and material take-offs.
- Interpret engineering markups and sketches.
- Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to produce integrated design deliverables.
- Apply BIM workflows, construction practices, and sequencing knowledge.
- Maintain drafting quality standards and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of relevant structural drafting and modelling experience in industrial, infrastructure, or building projects.
- Proficiency in structural 3D modelling and drafting software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong understanding of steel, concrete, and reinforced concrete structural systems and detailing.
- Experience with structural drawings, layouts, material take-offs, engineering markups, and sketches.
- Experience coordinating integrated deliverables with engineers and other disciplines.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling, BIM workflows, construction practices, and sequencing.
- Effective English communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and deadline management.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
Schedule
- Working hours require up to four hours of overlap with the North American time zone, until 12:00 a.m. IST.
Workplace
- The role is based in WSP's Noida office.
