Senior BIM/CAD Technician

Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinate with CAD/BIM managers and design leads to ensure policy compliance and timely completion.
• Coordinate CAD teams, identify design inputs and clashes, and track deadlines.
• Develop engineering drawings, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and component details.
• Manage BIM activities from project startup through completion.
• Review drawings for readability, presentation, and QA/QC compliance.
• Create parametric and non-parametric families.
• Produce schedules and quantity extractions from models.
• Document design changes, revisions, and project updates.
• Manage digital archiving of completed drawings and related documents.
• Resolve design issues with team leads, engineers, and other departments.
• Implement quality control to identify errors early.
• Customize CAD software and tools to improve productivity.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering.
• At least 10 years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting and BIM experience in wet and dry utilities projects.
• At least 3 years of utility pipe network modeling experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
• Advanced Common Data Environment knowledge using Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise.
• Strong knowledge of LOD requirements and BIM processes.
• Knowledge of DEWA, DM, and RTA standards and existing utilities management.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Desired Skills

• MicroStation software knowledge.
• Experience with international standards such as ISO 19650.
• Infrastructure wet and dry utilities model and layout preparation experience.
• Experience with clash detection, issue management, and model-based design review.
• Ability to support training and knowledge sharing within the BIM team.
• Understanding of ROW, cross-section, and routing plan preparation.
• Ability to identify issues and develop solutions during design and review.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
